Mi sono divertita a spaziare dal mondo elettronico a quello acustico, ricercando ogni suono con cura, mescolando ritmi trap e sonorità pop. Ho cercato di mettermi alla prova stravolgendo gli arrangiamenti che ritenevo più scontati e banali per dare vita a qualcosa di unico e personale che rispondesse alle mie esigenze espressive.
Com’è nato il sodalizio con Momo Riva?
Ho conosciuto Momo Riva nel 2018, quando andata al TdE Studio con l’intenzione di registrare alcuni inediti. Lui è stato il primo a credere nelle mie canzoni e a valorizzarle. Voglio sottolineare il suo contributo ad Aria, in cui ha arrangiato, prodotto e suonato con me i brani, dandomi sempre ottimi consigli.
Un’altra tua peculiarità è il cantato in francese. Quali potenzialità ha l’uso di questa lingua, a dirla tutta non frequentissimo a livello internazionale?
Nel mio caso, è stata una scelta spontanea: la mia regione è francofona, perciò ho studiato il francese sin dalle elementari. Scrivere e cantare in francese mi consente di esprimere al meglio una parte della mia cultura e, quindi, della mia personalità.
Quindi hai senz’altro dei punti di riferimento nella scena artistica d’Oltralpe…
Per parlare dei miei modelli nel panorama musicale francese devo fare un salto indietro di circa 170 anni. Ho studiato per un breve periodo canto lirico al Conservatorio della Valle d’Aosta e questo mi ha permesso di avvicinarmi alle opere di Gabriel Fauré, che sono state per me una grande fonte di ispirazione. Tra gli artisti francesi conteporanei, citerei, in ordine cronologico, Serge Gainsbourg, Camille e Christine and the Queens.
Un’altra cosa che si apprezza nei tuoi lavori è il tuo talento di polistrumentista. In che modo hai sviluppato e curato questo approccio totale alla musica?
Ho iniziato da autodidatta sin dalla più tenera età. Il mio approccio con ogni strumento è strettamente artistico: mi permette di trovare l’ispirazione per i miei brani e di potermi esprimere in modo molto personale.
E che ci dici, invece, del tuo rapporto con l’elettronica, l’audio editing e l’effettistica?
È più recente: ho visto all’opera Momo Riva e mi si è aperto un mondo. Mi sono innamorata del concetto di produzione e ho iniziato ad approfondirlo.

Come stai vivendo, da artista e a livello personale, le difficoltà dovute all’attuale emergenza imposta dalla pandemia?
È un periodo di estrema difficoltà per tutti, soprattutto per noi artisti. Io ho cercato di non scoraggiarmi e di affrontare questa situazione negativa come uno stimolo per dare sfogo alla mia creatività. È stato un periodo in cui ho composto molto (la maggior parte dei brani di Aria sono nati durante il lockdown totale della scorsa primavera) e in cui ho lavorato molto anche sulla mia crescita musicale.
Quali sono i tuoi programmi per il futuro?
Il mio sogno più grande è poter vivere di musica e di arte. Per me creare è sempre stata una necessità che nasce dal profondo e lavorerò sodo ogni giorno per raggiungere i miei traguardi.
